What is Something is Killing the Children?
Something is Killing the Children, House of Slaughter and the Book of Slaughter are ongoing comic book series developed by writer James Tynion IV and artist Werther Dell'Edera, and published by BOOM! Studios. The Something is Killing the Children series debuted on September 4, 2019 and was originally slated for a 5-book limited run but, due to massive pre-launch support from retailers and fans alike, the title was extended permanently. The story tells of protagonist Erica Slaughter as she hunts monsters that can only be seen by their prey... children. We learn that a mysterious secret society called the Order of St. George has been hidden among us killing monsters for centuries. The House of Slaughter, a group of hunters and the supporting cast who assist them, follow old traditions in which Erica does not often agree. Frustrated and in danger of those who once took her in, Erica strikes out on her own. This is not taken well, and eventually the head of House of Slaughter, the Old Dragon, hires a hit-woman from the UK-based House of Cutter to kill Erica and the problems she has caused for The Order. But will Cutter succeed?
